Club History

The West Rand Alfa Club was unofficially founded on the West Rand in 1987 by a group of friends. Approximately 20 – 30 guys started to gather at a regular basis and organizing trips and runs for enjoyment. An official meeting was structured and the club had its first minuted meeting in 1988 with 40 members. Noggins were held at different locations each month for a year or so, and managed to acquire our club facilities early 1990. Our club badge was then accepted and we also became affiliated to ARCSA in that year.

Our numbers grew quite dramatically to about 90 at certain times in the 90’s, but currently sitting on about 45members. The years Alfa was not represented in SA, saw originally young members become older and buying different makes of cars to replace their old Alfa’s, and therefore the decline in membership. In 2006 there is a wide spread of old, older and newer cars representing our club.

The West Rand Club has always been a social club for friends and family, participating in anything fun, from picnics to racing etc.

The current committee does its operation under the seventh Chairman and we hope to enjoy many years to come as members of the West Rand Club.
Club Meetings occur on the first Wednesday of every month at the club house. Meetings begin at 8pm. Well Stocked bar. Subs are R500 per year
